When Humans and Robots are Indistinguishable

About a month ago I went to see Blade Runner at the Music Box here in Chicago. Today, I saw the trailer for the sequel, Blade Runner 2049.

Blade Runner is based on a science fiction novel by Philip K. Dick (who also wrote The Man in the High Castle) about robots that are virtually indistinguishable from humans. It might have been a crazy idea in 1982 when the only consumer robots selling were Tommy Bots, but with ever-improving AIs now on the market, it doesn’t seem so crazy any more.
